Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge 3-11

Hello Bloggie Friends! I hope you are doing well on this FINE Sunday! Hope you didn't forget to Spring your clocks ahead an hour. I love that we "spring" our clocks forward because it means it is SPRING! And I love everything about Spring, the birds chirpin', the sun is out longer, no more snow (although this has been an amazingly calm winter) and of course the flowers blooming! I don't really like the losing an hour of sleep and trying to get the kiddos into the new routine though. Takes a little while for them to adjust. But I will get over it because it is SPRING :).

Okay enough of that soapbox! I am excited because today is the Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky. Fun right? Well this week's challenge is about 3 colors. You must use the Green, white and one other color of your choice. So me being the IRISH girl that I am thought SWEET! I will make something that is Saint Patrick's Day! So I was messing around trying to come up with ideas. I was looking at digi's online because my amazing Design Team sisters have been using them and they are so stinkin' cute I wanted to give it a shot. There are some super cute ones out there too, and free I might add. But then it hit me! A little craft for my kiddos to take to school! So I came up with this.....

I made this little hat... with a surprise inside. I will be honest it was harder then I thought using just the three colors. I wanted to use some gold so badly!!! But I got it to work. The structure of the hat is a toilet paper roll to make it sturdy. I cut the bottom circle and put a card underneath the green to make it a little stronger. Then I took the toilet paper and a green piece of card stock (cut to the roll size) and hot glue gunned the paper down. I cut a little off the top of the hat (a little less then an inch) because the toilet paper roll stood a little to tall for my desired hat height. Then I used the hot glue gun and glued around the bottom of the toilet paper roll and attched it to the circle. I cut a little circle for the top of the hat (I used a little glue on this but did not glue it all the way so that I could add a special treat). I used my Stamping Cricut Cartridge to cut the shamrocks... the small ones are cut at 1/2 inch and the top one is cut at an inch. I used a strip of scrap black paper and added that to the bottom along with a little white square for the buckle (I so wanted to use Gold but what can you do? Rules are rules ;)) And wellll---ahhhh (if that is how you spell it, sounded right in my head) my little IRISH hat is finished. But of course what would a project be if I did not add a Kristal Andrew Designs Stamp? It will just be blah! So I used my wonderful Fashionable Friends stamp set (which by the way is her number one seller right now so if you don't have it YOU NEED IT! ;) ) and added the sentiment "Hats off to you". See it does add a ton of life to the project don't you think? Yeah me too!

Okay now I really have to go because I have to go make about 40 more of these! Gotta any spare toilet paper rolls I can have? :)

Simply Sunday Challenge - It's a celebration!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had an amazing time ringing in the New Year. I spent a wonderful night playing games with my family! It is so much fun to just be home in your PJ's and not worry about going out and glamin up! :)

Well today is Sunday which means it is time for the first Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge of the year! The theme for this Sunday is It's A Celebration. This is open to your interpretation.... celebrate a new year, new job, new house... you pick!


Today I am celebrating the new year as I am looking forward to the year 2012! I think it will be a great year with beautiful blessing around every corner.

So here is my card to you! I used Kristal Andrew's Winter Wishes Stamp Set!

I used some paper I had laying around from Hobby Lobby. The snowman is a chipboard from Wallyworld. The brads are snowflakes I purchased from Hobby Lobby. And the fabulous gold glitter glue is from Wallyworld as well.

Here is the Winter Wishes Stamp Set I used.... SOOOO many ideas can come out of this! It is so easy to mix up the set and have tons of sayings!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge - Tea Time

HELLO! Okay so my New Years Resolution is to get better about posting and I have just the reason to do it now! I have made the Getting Cricky Junior Design Team! I am sooooo excited and greatful to Kristal Andrew for this opportunity. As you know I LOVE her stamps and love to use them on any and every project I can. They are amazing stamps made right here in the US! Fabulous right? It gets better. For all of the different stamp sets she has, Kristal has picked a charity (that she has researched) to give money to. So for each set she sells she gives $1 to the charity! She truly is an amazing, talented and given person. I am blessed to call her my friend! So be sure to check out her stamp sets!!!

So I created a new little card using her Fashionable Friends stamp set. Here is the set!



Lots of fun to be had with this set! And her sets are all so versitle and easy to use with any project!  With the sales of this set $1 per set goes to Cancer Angels to help Stage 4 level Cancer patients. Cancer Angels gives atleast 95% of all monies raised to the people in need. AMAZING :)

Okay so for my project!

I used just a plain Jane piece of blue paper for the backround. The snowmen came from the Christmas Cheer cartridge as did the coffee mugs. I added a little glitter glue to style up the snowmen and to add snowflakes to the back drops. The stamp saying is "Old friends never go out of style!" The ribbon is from a dollar bin at Target from over the summer.

This card goes along with the theme for this weeks Getting Cricky Challenge. The theme is Tea Time!

Getting Cricky Sunday Challenge - Halloween

Hey Bloggie friends! I wanted to enter this weeks Getting Cricky Simply SundaybChallenge. The theme for this HALLOWEEN! I am kind of excited for Halloween this year. Normally it is an "okay" holiday but for some reason this year I am already in the Halloween mood! So I already started thinking about my son's school Halloween giveaway and I thought candy does not need to be given out by every child! This year his class is doing a hundred book challenge which starts in October as well. So I made bookmarks for each child.

I used the Locker Talk cricut cartridge to cut out the ribbon and the hat was cut out from the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge. I used Kristal's Fashionable Friends stamp set to get the "Hat's off to you" (if you like that stamp you should hop over to Kristal's website and order it! ;)) The Halloween Stamp came from a little set (not sure where it is from) that was a present from a friend. I think they turned out pretty cute... I may just have to make more for the trick-or-treaters! Hope you enjoyed! Have a fabulous day all! Getting Cricky Challenge

Good morning all! I have to make this quick as we are taking my daughter and niece to the zoo for their birthday celebration! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I wanted to enter this weeks Getting Cricky Challenge(http://www.gettingcricky.com/ )  as it is one of my favorite treat bags! I love creating my kids birthday parties and put a lot of effort in the decorations. This treat bag I did last year for my daughter's birthday party. It was an Abby Caddaby theme. I made these bags... boys got Elmo and girls got Abby...  The bag included a wand that lit up in the dark... bath tub tablets that had special Abby instructions of how to way your magic wand and create bath tub colors... Abby chapstick....and little figurings! They turned out cute (maybe I am biased! ;)) Anyhow here it is! Enjoy your weekend all!!!

Getting Cricky Sunday Challenge Food for thought!

Wow... this week has flown by like a cloud of dust! So much going on. It has been a difficult week, but I am making it through. I am happy to have a quick chance to enter the Getting Cricky with K Andrew Sunday Challenge "Food for Thought" http://www.gettingcricky.com/2011/07/simply-sunday-food-for-thought.html. The idea behind this weeks challenge is to create a note with some "food for thought". I love this idea and remember notes my mom would leave me. It was always a joy to see a little something extra in my lunch box to brighten my day. Since it has been a bit of a rough week I have decided to make my note  lunch time words of encouragement. I have taken a piece of foil... crumpled it up and glued it to a sheet of paper then I took Kristal Andrew's stamp from the "food for thought" stamp set and stamped out the words.. "don't let anything foil your day". It is a simple card but the meaning can go a long way! Hope you enjoy!! :) Have a great weekend all!

Simply Sunday "Fashion-ista" Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone! If you are in the midwest...hopefully you are keeping cool. It is going to be gross out this week! Great week to stay in and craft! Haha...

Today I wanted to enter one of my scrap pages in the Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge. This week's challenge is called "Fashion-ista".  I thought there was no better display of a "Fashion-ista" then my little Mo! Mo is 2 and she is just a character! She loves to play dress up and babies. She is a crack up. You never know what type of outfit the girl will come up with, and she has three-five "costume changes" a day. Somedays it is exhausting doing laundry because of this but then I remember how much fun she was having and it all becomes worth it! ;) So here is scrapbook page. I used paper I had around the house and some rhinestone for a little added flare! And of course Kristal Andrew's "fashionable friends" stamp set!

Andrew's goes to help charity.  Kristal researched every charity she donates to very carefully, and each one of them gives atleast 85% or more directly to the people in need.  As long as my stamps are in production and for sale, $1 from every single set will be donated! She has also arranged to send $1 from every single one of her stamp sets to benefit the Children's Shelter in San Diego, CA, where she lives. Storefront Shelter   takes to the streets every night in search of homeless children. Kristal has a very low profit margin but  believes her real work in this world is to do good, and I can think of no better way than to help a child. ***Kudos to you Kristal! This world needs more people like you!!***

"Fashionable Friends", stamp set  goes to a charity for something I hold close to my heart, The Cancer Angels. The Cancer Angels is a non-profit organization that helps aid Level 4 cancer patients of ALL kinds. Many of these patients have such severe cancer and chemo that working or holding down a job is near impossible. Cancer angels gives them hope and monetary help while undergoing treatment in this stage. Imagine finding out you have cancer, and losing your job, home, and everything else because you can't work. Sometimes you just need an angel...and this is my way of becoming a silent angel (all of us together) to those who so desperately need some good news in the midst of such a storm.--- Having had a loved with with cancer in the last year I know how trying it can be on families both emotionally and finacially!
